the program has encountered an unspecified error and has stopped functioning x4

The easy fix that I have found is this...

1. Right-Click On the VideoStudio Icon on Your Desktop
2. Choose Properties
3. Choose the tab labeled "compatibility".
4. Check the box that says "run program as administrator"
5. Then, click apply, then ok.

This worked great for me, hope it works for you too!
